What a Great Day! ACFW Day 2

Conference is such a wonderful experience whether you're here to learn, connect, or pitch a story. At ACFW, the entire ambience is warmer and more helpful. People stop to suggest an idea for a question you had in a workshop yesterday, another asks for help brainstorming titles, and yet other writers connect to flesh out a book together. Or maybe you're just here for the cookies like Deb Clopton and Margo Carmichael:-D

By the way, be sure to wish Margo a Happy Birthday today! It's also Tere Campbell's. They won books from the stage because it was their birthdays. The books were awarded by Brandilyn Collins in honor of her mother, Ruth, who had written both.

I was personally very excited to meet some of the people I have only talked to online. This is my blog partner over at the FAITH girls blog, Christy Lashae-Smith.

And then there is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Oh, wait. I meant Dan Case and all the women he ate dinner with at the Cheesecake Factory, lol. We had a really good time on Friday's Free Time getting to know each other in person rather than through email loops. Several of us are critique partners and we brought along a few more friends.

After dinner, I ran to choir practice while the other car drove all over Dallas looking for the hotel, roflol. (That tidbit came from Jenness Walker:-D )

From 9-10 p.m. the Late Night Chats held everyone's rapt attention. This one was led by Allie Pleiter on Speaking and Writing. (She was joined by Julie and Jeanne.)

Go to the ACFW website to find even more photos of conference.

I'll be posting more either later tonight or tomorrow. Check back for Live from ACFW!

Hi Missy!
The appointments went really well. I'm a little stunned that there is so much interest in the non-fiction book idea that Michelle Sutton and I are working on. I thought it was a great concept to become a resource for those who deal with mentally ill family members, clients, and patients.

The fiction ideas also did well. I'm spinning!
Thank you for asking,
Angie
