Angie: Maria, how did you learn about competing in pageants?
Maria: I learned about the pageant from my local director, Phil Frazer.
Angie: Tell us about your platform please.
Maria: My platform deals with My First Home. I built it around my passion which is Real Estate and helping first time home buyers accomplish their dream of first time homeownership.
Angie: Why did you decide to compete?
Maria: For national pageant experience and to represent my country (Philippines).
Angie: Have you competed before?
Maria: My first competition was many years ago and I was excited. I had lots of fun.
Angie: What did you have to learn in order to compete?
Maria: I had to learn to walk with confidence and grace. I had to learn to answer interview questions well.

Maria: I was able to establish my own foundation in my mother's memory.

Angie: What's a goal for you?
Maria: A goal to be able to help the needy by utilizing my talents and skills in my daily living.

Maria: I wanted to build schools to educate the poor children, hospitals for the sick and charitable institutions to benefit the orphans all over the world.

Angie: Do you feel like all pageants are surface oriented and skin deep?
Maria: There are hundreds of pageants and there are some pageants that are not just skin deep. There are pageants that encourage community involvement and even motivate pageant participants to make a difference in this world.
Angie: What kind of an education do you have?

Maria: I have a doctorate degree, a master's degree, a bachelor's degree and an associate degree and lots of certifications and diplomas. The most important is I apply what I learn for the good of my fellow men and to make an impact in my life here on earth.
Angie: Aren't you a business owner too?
Maria: I own Maria Shircel Property Management, LLC, also work as a REALTOR, Mortgage Coach, Counselor and Fitness Trainer.
Angie: Do you pursue other creative talents?
Maria: Yes, photography and oil painting.

Maria: Continue to further my platform everyday and market it effectively.

Angie: What beauty tips would you share that help you feel beautiful and confident?
Maria: I always iron my clothes, always put day moisturizer on my face, and at night I use vaseline for my skin. I eat fresh fruits and vegetables and practice consistent running, lifting weights, walking, and a full day rest on Sunday.
